February is Heart Health Month-Scott County Health Dept has been educating our 7th and 8th graders on the use of CPR and AED’s. They are also being given a pedometer and participating in a step challenge. Thank you to our local Health dept for partnering with education!

8th Graders & Parents:
Please plan to attend Freshman Scheduling Night in the WHS Auditorium on Wednesday, March 4 at 6:30 pm. Students and parents will hear all about the transition from junior high to high school and begin the process of submitting course requests for next year. If for some reason you are unable to attend, please review the information on the Scheduling page of Mrs. Chumley's website, and contact her at dchumley@winchesterschools.net with any questions.
If you are giving please make sure you get eight hours of sleep and eat a hearty (eggs, meat, leafy greens, fruit) evening and morning meal. To help stabilize your blood pressure, drink lots of water (and minimize caffeine). Your body will lose about two cups of fluid during donation, so being fully hydrated is important. Congratulations to Violet Beck and John Marshall on qualifying to this week’s IHSA Wrestling Sectional. Violet finished 2nd in her Regional and will compete in Virden on Friday. John finished 4th in his Regional and will go to Vandalia as an alternate on Friday
