Notice of Proposed Property Tax Increase for Winchester CUSD 1

I. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for Winchester CUSD 1 for 2026 will be held on December 15, 2026 at 4:15 pm at Winchester High School Industrial Arts Classroom, 149 S Elm, Winchester, IL.

II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2025 were $3,074,710.

The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2026 are $3,506,280. This represents a 14.04% increase over the previous year.

III. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2025 were $894,202.

The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2026 are $894,202. This represents a 0.0% increase over the previous year.

IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2025 were $3,968,910.

The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2026 are $4,400,480. This represents an 11% increase over the previous year.
