What Brand of Car Do You Like? I set up a poll to see what brand of vehicle is most popular. Toyota, Ford, Chevy or Dodge I put pieces of paper around the school with the number for the kind of vehicle. Here are the results that I have found. It was surprising that Toyota won since there are few people that drive one. Time's Up! Total Results: 8
Bullying and Harassment What is bullying and harassment? Bullying is when someone or a group of people with more power repeatedly and intentionally causes hurt or harm to another person or group of people who feel helpless to respond.(http://www.ncab.org.au/whatisbullying/) Harassment is when a person or group of people begins to be aggressive and pressure others. Students will begin to follow and stalk others repeatedly.
According to the Winchester Handbook, Students who exhibit a pattern of aggressive behavior including physical injury, intimidation, harassment or verbal abuse of fellow students shall be deemed at risk of aggressive behavior in the future. Staff members shall intervene to stop acts of physical or verbal aggression, harassment or intimidation and shall report any such behavior to the building principal for further action. Parents or legal guardians will be notified when their children are deemed to be at risk of engaging in aggressive behavior, and shall enlist parental cooperation, involvement and assistance in the correction of the student aggressive behavior where feasible. The principal shall make use of available district and community resources to achieve correction of student aggression. School district resources include counseling and may include psychological evaluation as the use of social network sites while at school or at a school related function may constitute gross disobedience or misconduct and a violation of the district bullying and harassment policies station where appropriate. Bullying via electronic means such as the use of social network sites while at school or at a school related function may constitute gross disobedience or misconduct and a violation of the district bullying and harassment policies.
I know what it liked to be bullied. When others call you names, make, spread rumors about you. Victims that are bullied often believe they deserve to be forever alone and not to have friends. I believe bullies should get in trouble for their stupidity, and the ones being bullied should be able to talk to a counselor. I think that when bullying happens the principal and school board should step in and stop it when they realize it happening, not just wait for someone to go complain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=2VfRxxUO12o -BY: Brooke Bartmann
Editorial on Spring Break We had some fun over the days of school we missed with our snow days, but because of that we lose our cherished spring break. Spring break is our time away from school that we can do anything we want that we couldn't do during winter break. The teachers get a break from the students that could be spent in the sun. The students get time to sleep and enjoy their time away from homework and school in general. Now I'ÂÂÂÂll get to the downsides of not having spring break.
Since we no longer have spring break we don'ÂÂÂÂt get the freedom to have fun away from school on the weekdays. We will be stuck in class doing homework that could have waited a week. The teachers will have to teach instead of having a few days off. I think that we should have spring break even if we took some snow days. This is my opinion on Spring Break.

Happy Birthday Mrs. Slagel
Hobby My hobby is riding ATVs I go all over the place. I go to Alsey a lot and ride with Adam Reardon. Every once in a while I ride with Austin Hart he has a big pasture to ride and lots of hills and some creeks to go through. I have 2 four wheelers that I ride. One is a 2009 rancher 420 and the other 1 is a 2001 400ex. The 400ex is my favorite. I also like to ride dirt bikes, but prefer being on 4 wheels. I have more control on 4 that 2 but I am pretty good on both. I have had many dirt bikes and 4 wheelers the ones I have now are my favorite so far. I am sure that I will always ride for as long as I can.

St. Patrick's Day By: Brittany Ehlenbeck St. Patricks Day is on Monday March 17, 2014. St. Patrick was born in the year of 387. He died on March 17, 461. He was a Saint because he was a humble, pious, gentle man, who loved, devoted and trusted in God. He also converted many people to Christianity. The shamrock was the symbol of the Trinity the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Schools celebrate St. Patrick's Day every year. Kids wear their green to celebrate. The kids pinch the ones who don't wear their green. Some people go all out for St. Patricks Day. There are parties, parades and large celebrations all over the world. People wear green because of Ireland is the Emerald Isle.
Here at Winchester High School phones are allowed in some classes, but not in advisory due to students not working on homework. I believe phones should be forbidden during school hours, because students get very citrated with their phone and don't pay attention during class. With phones being forbidden students will pay more attention in class during lectures, because they wouldn'ÂÂÂÂt have their phone distracting them. Also they would start to show more improvement in their work, and will start getting better grades. Phones are the number one cause of fights in school due to the bullying. With phones gone there would be less drama because no one would be able to get on Facebook nor text others and start fights.

Chocolate bunnies and chocolate eggs is what most kids think of when they think about Easter. An egg symbolizes new life and spring is all about new life after a harsh winter. Most countries do egg games like a race or painting contest. In other countries they sing carols all day. In Italy eggs are even blessed and are served as the main dish during dinner. Easter started in 325a.d. in Egypt. Easter is a very religious holiday like Christmas but instead of birth its death and rebirth. On Easter morning my family gives all the little kids a basket of candy. The night before Easter we paint eggs. After lunch we have an Easter egg hunt. At dinner we eat the eggs we painted and open gifts. This is my Easter day celebration and a look on how other countries celebrate Easter. By Ryan Thompson
