New AR (Accelerated Reading) Requirements
We are listening! Based on parental concerns, we at Winchester Grade School, have created a consistent Accelerated Reader (AR) program within each grade. This program will also provide a smoother transition from grade to grade. The following chart describes that there will be no A/R grade except in Jr. High. Students are encouraged to meet their A/R goal for participation in incentive parties, extra credit, etc. (The incentive is determined by each classroom teacher.) The changes are to continue to encourage reading, and hoping students find reading fun and exciting! If you have any questions, please contact your classroom teacher.
