Job Description
TITLE: Director of Curriculum, Instruction, & Professional Development
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
Master’s Degree
PREFERRED: PEL Administrative endorsement
Evaluator Certification
Successful teaching and administrative experience

OBJECTIVE: The Director of Curriculum will direct and supervise all functions related to the curricular, instructional, and professional development programming of the Winchester CUSD #1, which includes students in prekindergarten through grade twelve. The Director initiates and manages programs in accordance with the school district’s strategic plan, school board policy and the guidelines of the State of Illinois and the federal government.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The ideal candidate will have successful experience in administrative and/or leadership positions and a demonstrated commitment to continuing education in the area of curriculum development and instructional leadership. The candidate must:
- Understand and embrace the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Winchester CUSD #1.
- Have the ability to effectively lead faculty and staff.
- Have the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and initiatives.
- Have experience training or providing professional development for school staff.
- Be self-driven, motivated, and organized.
- Work professionally and collaboratively with colleagues and professionals in all area districts
- Engage school, district, and community stakeholders.
- Initiate and model active and collaborative leadership across content areas and schools.
- Possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
