Kaden Holmes - Honor Band
Kaden Holmes was one of 90 students selected from over 30 schools across Central IL to participate in Bradley University's Junior/Senior Honor Band on Tuesday, April 30, in Peoria. The students rehearsed all day and then performed that night under the direction of Brian Balmages, one of the most well-known band composers in the country. For the closing piece, "Lightning Field" by John Mackey, Kaden was one of three percussionists featured on thunder tube, a tumultuous, cylindrical instrument that was played from the back of the auditorium to simulate a stereophonic storm.
