October Superintendent Newsletter
Winchester CUSD #1 Monthly Newsletter
October 1, 2018
We have been without Internet, inter-campus phones, and security cameras since early Friday afternoon. This afternoon we are most of the way back up. We are still trying to pinpoint the problem but it has to do with a network switch panel at WGS.
We have six teachers approved for Cohort 4 of the Tracy’s Family School Leadership Initiative. They are: Karen Daniels, Katie Maul, Megan Little, Frannie Suhre, Leevia Barnett, and Sheila Wigger. Cohort 4 will begin in February of 2019.
Our FY18 4th Quarter mandated categorical payments were paid last week.
Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) Grant is $13,165.00 for FY19. A large portion of the grant will be used for technology improvements at WHS.
We have canceled the posting for a Pre K bus driver as it looks like transportation has been arranged for all students in the half day programs. With the splitting of one of the full-day classes to two half-day classes we are now serving almost 50 students and have room for up to 60. Our Pre K program has been recognized for Circle of Quality achieved in ExceleRate Illinois.
We have had another school employee request a tuition waiver to send her child to WGS. The waiver has been granted. We now have seven out-of-district employee children with us.
The greenhouse construction has finally began!
