July Superintendent Newsletter

Winchester CUSD #1 Monthly Newsletter

June 29, 2018

We have many TVs and old student desk house in the Wood Shop that are going to be hauled away the middle of July.  We are going to let employees and anyone in the school district wanting these items a chance to take for free first.

We are hosting our annual timely and meaningful meeting on July 11th.  This meeting is to allow any private school or homeschool families to find out more about special education services for the 2018-19 school year.

The Winchester Education Foundation met on June 4th and approved $3,500 toward the playground project from funds donated from Peak Insurance in memory of Ellie Peak.  The foundation also approved $35,000 toward the bleacher project from the wife of Bob Cummings ($25,000) and Sam Peak ($10,000).

PAT was accepted for the Ford Fundraiser and are looking at a date in October.  A plan is in the works to involve Marshall’s on the same date.

The ESP Contract has been signed by all parties and has been placed on the website.

Our BC/BS health insurance rate for FY19 is a .53% decrease from our FY18 rate!

New carpet has been put down in Room 1 and the library/lab at WHS.  Damaged tile has been replaced in the WGS cafeteria. The large concrete slab for the bleachers was poured yesterday.  Materials for the playground should arrive on July 5th and bleacher material on July 9th.
