We have set the Winchester Grade School Open House date for Wednesday, October 11th from 5:30-6:30pm. There will be a short recognition ceremony in the gym at 6:30pm. We are inviting students, parents, local dignitaries, businesses, media, current/former board members, contractors, and the entire school district community to attend.
Our WGS Occupancy Permit was signed and sent to the ROE September 22nd.
The gym floor final seal coat was done August 29th but then needed 7 days to cure. The bleacher installation began on Sept. 7th and was finally completed on Sept. 15th. Our volleyball games on Sept. 5th & 7th were moved to Bluffs with games on Oct. 2nd & 3rd switching to Winchester. The WGS girls basketball team played the first game on the new floor on September 19th with the WC volleyball team hosting Routt on Sept. 25th.
The General Assembly and the Governor finally came to a compromise on the school funding formula. We will not know the amount we will get from the new evidence based funding formula for several months. However, we did get a double GSA payment for August and are now on track to get payments on the 10th and 20th of each month. It looks like each of these GSA payments will be about $115,000.
The West Central Athletic Co-Op meeting was held Sept. 21st. There was good dialog and several proposed changes to the intergovernmental agreement. Mr. Blankenship & I are going to meet to put the changes together and then have the committee review before presenting to the BOE.
