April Superintendent Newsletter

Winchester CUSD #1 Monthly Newsletter

March 31, 2017

We only used one snow emergency day this year.  That day will be made up on Tuesday, April 18th.  Thursday, April 13th will now become a non-attendance day.  So, our Easter Break will begin with a 2:15 Dismissal on Wednesday, April 12th and run through Monday, April 17th.

The Health Life Safety and Working Cash Bonds have been sold.  First National Bank of Beardstown, United Community Bank of Chatham, and Commerce Bank of St. Louis were the three buyers.  We receive our funds on March 30th.  Our interest rate came in at 4.391%.

We have received the building permits from ROE 1 for both the WGS project and  the Pritchett locker room project.

9 cedar trees were removed from the west side of WGS over Spring Break ahead of the storm sewer project.   Laverdiere Construction (Macomb) should start on this project when the weather permits.

Steve Weder and Troy Savage have evaluated our door replacement needs.  They are recommending 58 interior and classroom doors be replaced.  We are working with CTS on matching these doors with doors their contractor will be installing.

We are in the middle of PARCC testing at WGS with WHS completing SAT and ACT Aspire testing by Easter Break.
