The PARCC Performance Based Assessment (PBA) has been completed. The PARCC End-of-Year (EOY) testing will begin on April 20th. A schedule of grade-level testing dates will be determined by mid-April.
The Illinois General Assembly has passed a budget to get the state of Illinois through the rest of the 2015 fiscal year which ends June 30th. They cut General State Aide by 2.25% which is about half of one GSA payment. This means we will see about $40,000-$50,000 less in GSA for this year.
The new school funding formula model being proposed at the capital would mean an additional $124,000 in GSA for our district. However, this will only occur if $500 million in new funding is added to GSA for FY16. Other models with less new funding would mean a loss in GSA for us.
We received a letter from ISBE concerning the high number of our students with specific learning disabilities. We are required to complete a disproportionality self-assessment with completion by April 17th.
The calendar committee has met and has a proposed 2015-16 school calendar for the board to consider at the April meeting.
The Morgan-Scott CEO Program has selected 18 students to become members of the 2015-16 CEO class.
Our emergency day used on March 3rd will be made up on Friday, May 15th. This leaves us with April 2nd – 6th for Easter Break.
