October Superintendent Newsletter

Winchester CUSD #1 Monthly Newsletter

September 30, 2014

Our district website conversion is complete.  One new highlight I would like to point out is the scrolling calendar on the right side.  You are able to quickly see what is happening in the district over the next seven days.

We have had technology issues with our phones, wireless connection, & security cameras since we started school.  I am happy to report we are back running at full strength.  Mrs. VanDeVelde worked many extra hours with CDS trying to isolate the problem.  It was finally discovered that our new HP desktops at WGS were the source of the problem.

Ingram Electric has returned this week to continue the DCEO lighting project.  They have not been here since they completed the primary classrooms & bathrooms before school started.  Ingram’s will be working in the WGS gym & locker rooms before moving to other buildings.

Doyle Plumbing & Heating recently spent several hours at WGS completing an extensive inspection and evaluation of our gas system in the kitchen, boiler room, media center, kindergarten, and ELC.  There recommendations are being addressed.

The Winchester Sports Boosters paid $2,000 toward a new $3,000 field paint striper.  Our old striper was a demo model that we bought about 10 years ago.  Thank you boosters!
